Artist Wendy Wise is driven by her gift, a unique ability to reveal beauty and meaning through artful composition of materials and objects. It has compelled her to do creative work all her life. But jewelry, which she began making and selling on the sidewalks of Ann Arbor when she was sixteen, has become her most fulfilling form of expression. She discovered a mystical affinity with the precious and semiprecious stones, metals, and found objects that make up her creations. They speak to her, their inherent energy guiding the creative process.
Each Wendy Wise collection begins with an affirmation. Wendy then selects gemstones (or, as she says, "they select her"), that resonate with the affirmation. The resulting pieces are imbued with a transcendent power and beauty that elevates them above ordinary body decoration.
